Stone Creek – Standard Willow Creel

This standard version of our Split Willow Creels is slightly smaller than our Classic Creels. Still, it is fully functional and still made with split willow.

The Stone Creek Standard Creel is approximately 16″ Wide 8.5″ Tall 8″ front to back and comes complete with webbing shoulder strap.

Whats the difference between willow vs. rattan? Well, many people use the words rattan and wicker interchangeably, but they are two different things. Rattan is a material derived from a wood-like vine that grows throughout Australia, Asia and Africa. Wicker is another type of material that refers to the several-thousand-year-old technique used when weaving pliable twigs, mainly willow branches.

The reason we chose split willow willow grows in wet environments and is naturally resistant to water absorption and decay, thus a durable, long-lasting item that can be used by generations.
