The Fortrex is built for anglers who want one thing: power and control, period. It has no GPS, no Bluetooth, no wireless remote, no One-Boat Network by design. What it does have is the toughest mount in the Minn Kota lineup (anodized aluminum Mono-Arm), a cable-steer foot pedal that puts you directly wired to the motor, and enough thrust to push through stump fields and heavy vegetation without slowing down.

Every Fortrex ships with a Cable-Steer Foot Pedal (5′ cable), Weedless Wedge 2 Prop, Built-In Dual Spectrum CHIRP Sonar, and mounting hardware. That’s it. No extras, no complexity.

Important: Fortrex has NO GPS, NO Spot-Lock, NO Bluetooth, NO wireless remote capability, NO One-Boat Network. If you want GPS anchor holding or wireless control, you need Ultrex, Terrova, or Ulterra. Fortrex is a pure cable-steer power motor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add GPS or a wireless remote to Fortrex?

No. Fortrex has no Bluetooth hardware, no GPS hardware, and no OBN hardware. There is no adapter or upgrade path to add wireless remote control or GPS features. If you want GPS and Spot-Lock, you need Ultrex, Terrova, or Ulterra.

Does Fortrex have Spot-Lock?

No. Spot-Lock requires GPS hardware, which Fortrex does not have. Fortrex is controlled entirely by the cable-steer foot pedal.

What is the Mono-Arm mount?

The Mono-Arm is Fortrex’s signature mount design a single-piece extruded anodized aluminum arm instead of the traditional scissor-style mount. It’s lighter, quieter, stronger, and lasts longer than any other mount in the Minn Kota lineup. This is the #1 reason anglers choose Fortrex over other non-GPS motors.

What size Fortrex do I need?

80 lb / 24V handles boats up to roughly 4,000 lb total loaded weight. 112 lb / 36V handles boats up to roughly 10,000 lb. The 45″ shaft fits most bass boats. The 52″ shaft (80 lb only) fits deeper-V and walleye boats.

Fortrex foot pedal vs. Ultrex foot pedal what is the difference?

Both are cable-steer, but Ultrex has power steering (assisted steering that reduces pedal effort) and a Spot-Lock button. Fortrex has a standard cable-steer pedal with heel/toe steering and a speed dial no power assist, no Spot-Lock button. Fortrex pedal cable is 5′ (Ultrex is longer). Fortrex steering is direct and unassisted many old-school anglers prefer this feel.
