Magictail Outfitters – Magic Ballyhoo Soft Plastic Paddletails

The Magictail Magic Ballyhoo Soft Plastic Paddletails are engineered to replicate the profile and movement of a natural ballyhoo (Hemiramphus brasiliensis), a primary forage species for offshore pelagics. Developed over three years of on-the-water testing, this soft plastic paddletail is designed for offshore anglers targeting bigeye tuna, yellowfin tuna, and bluefin tuna.

Anatomically scaled to mirror the dimensions and silhouette of real ballyhoo, the Magic Ballyhoo Paddletail creates a natural visual presentation in the spread. The high-contrast, UV-reactive color profiles are selected to enhance visibility in a range of water clarities and light conditions, supporting both visual tracking and lateral line detection.

Constructed from a proprietary high-tensile elastomer blend, the body offers significant elongation and tear resistance to help maintain integrity through repeated strikes and high-speed trolling applications. The streamlined proximal end allows seamless integration with the Magictail HooMagic system as well as many industry-standard ballyhoo heads, offering flexibility in rigging configurations.

Suitable for use in trolling spreads, teaser systems, and offshore lure presentations, the Magic Ballyhoo Soft Plastic Paddletail provides a consistent, forage-matching option for anglers fishing structured offshore grounds, temperature breaks, and open-water tuna feeds.
