Will my old transducer work?

If it’s a current 9-pin xSonic transducer (most Lowrance models from the last several years), yes direct connection, no adapter needed. Older HOOK2/HDS Gen2/3 7-pin transducers need the 7-pin to 9-pin adapter (000-14070-001).

Why buy without transducer?

Upgraders who already have a working transducer save ~$300-700 vs. the bundled version. Or pick a different transducer (Active Imaging HD 2-in-1, etc.) instead of the standard 3-in-1.

Same features as bundled version?

Yes identical head unit. Only difference is the transducer in the box.
