Frequently Asked Questions

Why 100gr practice tips?
Most broadheads are 100gr. To practice with the same arrow weight you hunt with, your practice field tips must match broadhead weight. Mismatched weights change arrow flight characteristics practice doesn’t translate to hunting accuracy.

3D archery use:
“3D archery” = shooting at three-dimensional foam animal targets at varying distances. Practice points are designed for foam target use penetrate target and pull back out without damaging target or tip.

Field tips vs broadheads for practice:
FIELD TIPS: cheap, simple, infinitely reusable, safe for foam targets and most backstops. BROADHEADS: expensive, can dull/damage on practice, only practice with broadhead-specific targets (Block, Morrell, etc). Use field tips for skill practice; verify broadhead point-of-impact with limited broadhead practice on dedicated broadhead targets.

Standard archery practice setup:
Use field tips for the vast majority of practice (cheaper, faster). Switch to actual broadheads only for final pre-hunt verification on broadhead-rated target. Helps preserve broadhead sharpness for the actual hunt.
