Minn Kota Riptide Terrova

The Riptide Terrova is the saltwater version of Minn Kota’s most popular GPS bow mount. Every model has GPS, Bluetooth, One-Boat Network, Spot-Lock, and the full-size Advanced GPS Navigation Wireless Remote. The Riptide difference is the saltwater corrosion protection the lower unit housing is grit-blasted, then coated in aluminum to prevent oxidation and rust, with a final layer of powder coat paint for ultimate protection.

Unlike freshwater Terrova, Riptide Terrova ships with NO foot pedal and NO built-in sonar on any model. The wireless remote is your primary control. Foot pedal available separately as SKU 1866077 (same pedal as freshwater Terrova). Riptide Terrova also offers an 87″ shaft the longest in the Minn Kota lineup for high-bow saltwater boats.

Important: Riptide Terrova foot pedal is SKU 1866077 same as freshwater Terrova (NOT PowerDrive 1866070 or Ulterra 1866081). All pedals are corded (wired, 18′ cable). Terrova supports foot pedal + wireless remote simultaneously.

Does Riptide Terrova have built-in sonar?

No. Unlike freshwater Terrova, no Riptide Terrova model includes built-in sonar (DSC or MDI). If you need sonar integrated into the motor shaft, you need a freshwater Terrova with DSC or MDI.

Does Riptide Terrova come with a foot pedal?

No. All Riptide Terrova models ship with the Advanced GPS Navigation Wireless Remote only no foot pedal. The Terrova/RT Terrova foot pedal is sold separately as SKU 1866077. It runs simultaneously with the wireless remote.

Can I use a freshwater Terrova in saltwater?

Not recommended. Freshwater Terrova does not have saltwater corrosion protection. Salt will corrode the lower unit, bearings, and internal components. If you fish saltwater even occasionally use a Riptide motor.

What is the 87″ shaft for?

The 87″ shaft is the longest in the Minn Kota lineup. It’s designed for high-bow saltwater boats large center consoles, bay boats, and flats boats with elevated bows where shorter shafts wouldn’t reach deep enough to maintain proper prop submersion in rough water.

What size Riptide Terrova do I need?

55 lb / 12V handles boats up to roughly 3,000 lb. 80 lb / 24V handles up to roughly 4,500 lb. 112 lb / 36V handles boats up to roughly 10,000 lb. For shaft length: 54″ for standard saltwater boats, 60″ for deeper hulls, 72″ for larger center consoles, 87″ for high-bow boats. When in doubt, size up on both thrust and shaft saltwater current and wind demand more power than freshwater.
